Before jumping into today’s topic, I wanted to take a moment to share a bit about myself to help provide some context. I have been playing Magic: The Gathering at a somewhat competitive level since the early 2010’s, with some breaks between then and now. I was primarily a Legacy player, but have also been playing Pauper since what seems like the early days of the format. The earliest event that I participated in on MTGO was in October 2012, at least that is what I could find in my MTGO game record….
Today, I’ll be sharing a sweet little brew that I came up with. If you’re like me and like drawing cards and doing a whole lot of nothing, this is the deck for you… Today’s deck draws ALL THE CARDS!
If you’re reading this, you likely understand the concept of a metagame. The most powerful decks and ideas rise to the top of a format, and skill expression shifts from building the best decks to tuning and piloting them the best. This has existed in every card game since the moment tournament results became public, and there’s nothing wrong with that. In fact, being able to navigate the meta is a skill in its own right.
CEDH has quickly become my preferred Magic: the Gathering format to play because it incorporates so many of the classic Eternal cards I grew up playing with, and against, over the years. I’ve been playing and collecting cards since the game began back in the day and I’ve been looking for a format where I can enjoy playing with my favorite cards and CEDH hits the mark for me much more so than any other constructed format.
