Mirrodin was the first set since Antiquities that heavily featured artifacts as the main focus. It was notable for introducing affinity and artifact lands as well as having many powerful cards that were banned at the time.
This booster box contains 36 booster packs, and the set contains 306 unique cards. The new mechanics in the set include affinity, imprint, entwine, and equipment.
Mirrodin is set in its namesake metallic plane. This artificial world was created by Karn and it features four satellites. Each satellite corresponds to a color from magic’s pie chart, but green is notably absent. This sets the stage for Glissa Sunseeker to uncover the mysteries of the plane.
